| I live in SE Wisconsin, and was planning on planting a new lawn this weekend. I did my research, and thanks to many people on here, decided on a mix of Bewitched, Rugby II, and Proaperity. I was placing my order, and now am finding out that they are sold out of Bewitched and will be for the next month.
Any suggestions on a very comparable alternative to the Bwewitched??
Thank you!!

| There really isn't, Bewitched is the best compact cultivar by a long shot. If I had to chose I would say look at Moonlight SLT, Moonbeam, Blueberry, and Skye. You could just buy Bewitched from a different supplier and mix it yourself if you had your heart set on it. |

| I was getting the other seed selections from Pawnee Buttes. Any other recommendations for suppliers to try? Thanks again! |

| I used a mixture of Bewitched, Rugby II, and America KBG along with Firecracker LS and Bullseye TTTF a couple of weeks ago. I bought the Bewitched from Williams Seed. Maybe try them. |

Thanks again! That number is still correct. I talked to Leon. Williams Seed's prices weren't as low as Pawnee Buttes, but they were one of the few that had Bewitched in stock, so it is what it is... Got everything ordered, the Bewitched coming from Williams, and the Prosperity and Rugby II coming from Pawnee. Also ordered the Soil Moist Seed Coat Pellets from EH Griffith, and picked up some starter fertilizer from the local Lesco dealer. The yard has been graded and the rocks removed, and the seed and soil moist should all be here early next week, so I will be planting it Thursday or Friday next week. I know KBG takes a while to germinate, so I hope that will give me enough time for it to germinate, and get established enough to survive the winter... And then really take off next spring. I hope the weather holds up for me this fall. I was planning on running a rake over the surface of the soil to create some light grooves, put down the seed with a broadcast spreader, rake again in the opposite direction to get some of the soil to lightly cover the seed with some soil, and then rent a roller to go over it all. The guys at the Lesco outlet thought that the second raking and the rolling was unnecessary. What are your opinions? Thanks again for all the help!! |

| I think if you use the backside of a metal leaf rake for your second raking, you'll be good, assuming the soil is loose. Walking on the seed at the same time will also help. Hopefully you're not dealing with areas athat are too erosion prone. |

| Don't know why all of a sudden it reposted my message from over a week ago just now?? Didn't see a way to delete it.. I planted the lawn a few days ago, and am hoping it all turns out! A little worried that my watering system I set up covers everything adequately, a little worried the weather holds out and gives the grass enough time to establish before winter comes, and also a little worried that I lost too much seed in the thunderstorms last night and whatever storms we may get in the next few weeks (the yard is a little sloped in some areas, more in others)... |
