Jar Test - New Seed Fertilizing

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone could help me understand the jar test. Looks like mostly silt and clay to me, no sand really, but I'm a novice sooooo....confirmation would be helpful.

Also, I have newly sprouted seeds that look great and am wondering how much to fertilize. They will be 14 days from seed on Sunday. Today is Friday. I have some Milorganite, but am wondering if that is too low on Phosphorus for new seedlings. The Scotts Lawn Soil I used when overseeding said it had starter fertilizing mixed in. Any advice appreciated.

I actually see a triple layer there--about 30% fine sand, 50% silt, 20% clay. Or, a medium loam bordering silty loam, a nice place to be.

I'd need to see the photos at 2 minutes, 2 hours, and 2 days to be sure, though.

Whether or not you need phosphorus, only a soil test could have told you. With adding some with the seed, I'd guess the Milo will probably be just fine for now.
