| What is the shelf life of TTTF and KBG grass seeds? Is it possible to use seeds in the spring if I have some left over from over-seeding in the fall? I'm planning to order seeds online. Let's say I store the leftovers in the basement at ~60F.
Realistically, I'm not sure I can reseed all turf areas in the fall. I'd like to get going with over-seeding in to the ~ 2,000 sq ft area with large patches where I finished pulling weeds. I have another 3,000 sq ft that's overtaken by crabgrass and don't yet have a plan of attack for that area as I want to avoid using roundup. But, want to get going with over-seeding the area that's ready.... |

| I've never tried to see how long it will last, but I know that with proper (cool, dry) storage that it lasts at least a year. I've done it twice with KBG. |

| I read a rule of thumb somewhere that says to add the temperature in degrees F and the relative humidity. If that stays below 100, you should be okay. For example if your temps are 90 and your humidity is 10, you're pushing it. But if your temps are 50 and your humidity is 40, you're fine. |

| Quality seeds seem to be sold in bulk, so this is a relief. Sounds like it should be ok to store them in the basement or garage (heated to minimum 20-40F) over one winter season. Thank you. |

| "have some grass seed thats dated sell by 2009 would they be usable yet" Maybe. Try a germination test. Put about 10 seeds in a damp paper towel. Keep it damp for about 3 weeks and see how many seeds germinate. |
