Pre emergence after reseeding

I have plugged, over seeded and fertilized my lawn. I live in the foothills of NC. In the spring i normally sow pre emergence, should I do that next spring or will that kill some of my over seeding that did not sprout this fall?
Thanks for any advice.

Most of us drop pre-emergent when the forsythia bloom--or, when soil temps are just passing fifty and rising.

If there's any seed left at that point, it's going to be impacted by the pre-emergent. New grasses that have already sprouted should be mostly untouched, and anything that sprouted this fall will be just fine.
