What the heck is this stuff?

Bought a house this year, I've got this stuff in some patches around the yard, very wide blades compared to my regular grass, a bit clumpy, tends to be found around the edges of things (driveway, flowerbeds).

I've looked at a couple dozen sites trying to ID the stuff but I'm still not sure.

My guess is that it's some kind of bermudagrass cultivar, because it did really well in the heat and it seems to have some surface rhizomes. I've been trying to kill it and planting some nice KBG on top of the corpses.

Looks like good old fashioned K-31 tall fescue, but there are some other grasses that have a similar appearance.

Agreed...looks like a thick Tall Fescue.

Thanks! So it's more or less regular grass, now I feel guilty for killing it. Well, a little anyway.

I'm still replacing it it with KBG, though, along with filling in the bare patches. Coming in pretty well so far.
