Leaves covering newly spread grass seed

I spread 100 pounds of grass seed over 22,000 sf on Monday this week. Since I laid the seed, leaves have fallen from some maple and oak trees and partially covered some of the seed. This evening I went out and raked up some of the heavier concentrations of leaves, just skimming the surface to remove leaves that had piled up but not a thorough enough removal that would disturb the grass seed.

I'm thinking that a light covering by the occasional leaf might actually be a good thing to help the seed germinate-prevent erosion from watering and rain and help keep the ground from drying out too quickly. Anyone have an opinion on this?
