once and for all: tttf actually coarse bladed vs. kbg?

So, I recently overseeded with TTTF (and KBG). I keep reading that even modern TTTF is coarser (wider bladed) than KBG. Is this true, even with such cultivars as FIrecracker LS and Bullseye (what I used)?

I also have read that the finer, more compact cultivars are actually more prone to brown patch. Is this true that TTTF is more prone than say, TTPR?

Finally, I also keep hearing that TTTF isn't that persistent, and not as competitive as KBG and TTPR. I know it isn't a prolific rhizome producer, but shouldn't it be at least as competitive as PR? I'm not certain why people consider PR cometitive anyway...it has no rhizomes at all.
