I sprayed the individual weeds in the lawn with weedbgone max about 3 weeks ago and the dandilions are a bit curled and the plantains are a bit yellow but not dead. I am hoping that the roots will not survive the winter. But do you think I should see them dead already? What has been your experience? Thanks! Kim

Weed b gon is very slow. If it's been cool, it will take longer to die. Also, depending on how thoroughly you sprayed the plant it will make a difference. You could always re-apply (on a day warmer then 50) if you wanted to. Wouldn't surprise me if it's still working, though.

Weeds are best controlled (killed) when they are actively growing and they're not growing now. They have have gone to seed now but they're not growing. A pre-emergent put down in early summer can kill some of the seeds that will try to germinate next spring. Weeds, killed by chemical, are still there...they don't disappear until the grass pushes them out. Some weed killers do not kill ALL weeds. Most kill only broadleafed weeds, the kind that the weed killer wont harm natural growing grass.

It works but it takes awhile. My experience has been to spray the weeds every week on the second week they are dead and by week 3 they are usually gone. Hit them again and just wait, it does work.
