As stated.....sorry...its too late now. You are in zone 3...if you're in he south....zone 2 practically everywhere else.
You should put on your calendar next year...round about mid August - mid September...I'll give you two weeks of September...that's the time to stop all fertilizing...let your plants go dormant naturally...including your lawn.
You could think to sod a lawn well into October...maybe parts of November...but much past early November even sodding is taking a chance.

Stop thinking the outside air is somehow going to allow you to grow grass from seed when its the soil temperature that matters. Seed grows in the ground....not the air.
Southern Manitoba I would expect is facing a frost at any time now...maybe even a hard frost. Your geraniums---if you are keeping them over---should be inside now. Don't let them be hit by frost.

Next spring....allow the soil to gain temperature that lets grass seed germinate....and that is in the range of 45ð - 50ð.....soil temperature...not air temperature.
I would speculate that we're talking late May as the earliest time to think planting grass seed.
