Watering schedule

I reseeded 2 weeks ago and now I have a lot of baby grass. What should I change my watering schedule to now? Only as needed or should I stay with my 4 times daily at 10 minutes?

RE: Watering schedule

Normally, if it just sprouted, under 1/2" in height, drop to once a day. Once it gets over 1" you can go to every second or third day for about 1/2" of water at a time. It's going to depend a lot on the temps and how moist the soil stays.

RE: Watering schedule

Eventually you should water more like Mother Nature does (weekly or monthly for hours at a time) rather than the way the Sprinkler Installers of America suggest (daily for 5-10 minutes). In the cool months you should be able to go a full month without seeing any distress in the grass. In the summer it will be more like weekly unless you are in the desert from about Junction, Texas all the way out to Palm Springs, CA and up to St George, UT. If you live in that triangle, you may need to water more often than every 7 days in the heat of summer.
