New Irrigation system can I dethatch?

I have installed an irrigation system in my lawn. Is it ok to dethatch with a pull behind tine style dethatcher and ok to core aerate? Do I have to go around the sprinkler heads or is it ok to drag or core over them. Most of them are in the ground where the heads dont show.

If your system is shallow enough that an aerator will hit the lines, no you can't.

If the lines are deep enough that your equipment cannot make physical contact with it, yes you can.

You will want to go around the heads. Anything that could break them, you don't want to do to them.

Mark the heads and avoid them. If the lines aren't at least 4" deep, I wouldn't aerate unless I avoided the lines.
