Killed a lot of weeds but what's next?

I applied weed-b-gone and there's now a bunch of brown areas where the weeds died or are looking poor. So what should I do next? Will the grass take over or do I need to reseed. I can't imagine the seed germinated on the dead weeds/brown areas. The front yard has some weeds but the back yard is half weeds. Just not sure if I should just wait until spring and see if the grass takes over or reseed this fall or in the sping. I am near the Philadlephia area. Thanks.

If you can seed now, do it now. Spring is the second worst time of year to seed grass...the dead of summer being the worst. The start of fall is the best time but you missed that. DO IT NOW.

Unless you have Kentucky bluegrass, the grass will not take over by itself. Fescue does not spread like Kentucky bluegrass. If you want more fescue, then you need more fescue seed.

Yes, seed now and you still will probably get better results than in spring. You must rough up the dead areas to allow for good seed to soil contact. I would rather have a chance at growing grass in those bare areas than the very likely possibility of all the weeds seeds that are already there sprouting. You must have lots of weed seeds since you had a lot of weeds. Grass seed will compete with them. Let the games begin!

You can only put down seed once the weed killer becomes inactive. Read the label to make sure enough time has passed.
