| I core aerated and overseeded my lawn. I spread straw over it. Now, the old grass is getting about 6 ins. high. The new grass is just beginning to come in,( about 1 in.)
I thought about Raising my self propelled mower to it,s hightest setting and go over it. Will this damage the new sproutings, or should I wait a few more days? |

| Mow it this weekend, and start at your highest mower setting, mow every other day, and each time you mow, take the mower deck height down one notch until you get to the 3 inch height. Alternate your mowing direction. But most importantly......make sure you have a sharp mower blade!!!!! |

| For this mowing, I'd use the bag and pick up the clippings so that they don't smother the new grass just coming in. I go along with mowing at the highest, then lower the blade a bit so that you don't cut too much clippings. Definitely, if you have a compost bin deposit the clippings there. If not....start one! Think of all that nitrogen that went into the lawn and now would go to waste if you just throw them away. Put the clippings into a plastic bag and put it behind a shrub until spring when you can add it to your new compost. |

| Yes, use a bagger and collect your clippings for each mowing. |
