I had problems with my lawn over the past few years, so during the last 3 weeks in September I had my complete lawn sprayed with round-up serveral times to kill it all and start over. On October 1st, some low areas were filled in with soil for cosmetic concerns and then lawn was slit seeded with KBG. On Tuesday of this week I noticed areas where the seed has sprouted and now today it sprouting more and more. However it has not sprouted where the new dirt was placed to fill in the low spots (this area was not slit seeded). I've attached some pictures. My question is this: Is it normal for the old dead grass to begin growing the new KBG seed before the area that was filled with dirt and then seeded with KBG?
