Will Jalapenos hurt my lawn

I have an overabundance of Jalapeno peppers and I also have an overabundance of feral cats doing there business on my lawn. I'm thinking of throwing around the over-ripened jalapenos to maybe discouraging the animals. Three questions; will the jalapenos hurt my lawn; could the jalapenos possibly help my lawn; does anyone think it will help with the cat problem?

1. Not really except for the grass directly under the peppers. 2.They really won't help your lawn. 3. It won't help with the cat problem unless you grind up A LOT of peppers and spread them all over the yard, then it might help. Best way to get rid of feral cats is with traps, or a rifle.

It will do no harm, nor much good either. Capsaicin does not affect plant tissue like it does our nose, mouth, and eye tissues. Now if you had enough would add organic natter, but we are talking a 1/4 inch deep of dried peppers. Now if you could lay a layer of 1/4-inch dried peppers you would drive off all animals off your lawn, including you.

I used to keep cats out of my daughter's sand box with carpet tack strips.

I think (pepper amount permitting), you'd be better off putting them in a blender with some water and cayenne pepper and pouring a line around your perimeter of the lawn. That would probably do a better job at discouraging them from getting into your grass.

I know it does in the morning.
