I made a very rookie mistake today. I bought vigoro fertilizer (fall- 12-0-18 , large granular)

-read the instructions. poured it in the hopper.

- covered it with a garbage bag because it was pouring rain all day.

- set it on 16 ( as the bag stated ) and away i went.

- It was supposed to cover my whole yard and then some..

- It ran out about half way through.

The problem was that I have a scotts drop spreader / Not one of the cil, vigoro, etc.. So my setttings were way off. It was supposed to be 5 not 16.

Im hoping the heavy rain , large granulars will prevent my lawn from burning.

anything i could do? anything...
