hi, i need help on re-seeding my lawn, it is currently in a withered state and before i shell out a ton of money again i want to know what to do really. Twice before i used the mulch, seed, then topper combo. while it grew normally when i applied turf builder to it it killed everything and decimated my lawn.I applied it after a good amount of time after the initial seedings (at least 2 months). I hired a landscaper to do a little area of it and he applied mulch seed and topper only different thing is when either his mulch or topper had little white round balls in it and that section grew well. My lawn gets pretty much direct sunlight for the whole day, any help would be appreciated.

That is really too bad. Unfortunately, I'm not sure I totally understand your question. First, where exactly do you live, and also, what kind of grass do you have? Are you saying that the area that the landscaper cared for is still living, or has that died as well?

I live in southern CA, and right now its growing a mixture of st agustine and the other kind which i dont mind. also the little area the landscaper cared for is very green and living but i rather put in the manual labor myself if i can see a pay off

Well, I think that is your cue - that fact that the area that the landscaper took care of is healthy. Just a guess, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's done more things differently then you have done, then just those little white balls. My understanding is that you can't seed St. Augustine, so I'm not sure how that worked for you. I would recommend talking to your landscaper to see what his recommendation is for you. If we are to help figure out why your lawn is dying, I'm thinking we will need pictures, and information about all the applications that you have done. Maybe your landscaper could tell you information such as both of the types of grass that you have, how you should fertilize, etc.
