Last fertilizer application for tall fescue?

What kind of fertilizer should I use for the last application of the year on my fescue lawn? I know I need a fast release but cannot find that information on any labels. I shop at Ace, HD, or Lowes so my choices are limited to what they sell. I read on here that the Scotts Winterguard isn't a good choice.

Urea is a widely used, inexpensive form of quick release nitrogen. Check the ingredients for it.

I had a hard time finding the a quick release Nitrogen, too. The stores you mentioned only carried slow release. I did find Ammoninum Sulfate for about $5. for 4 pounds at at a higher end nursery. Since I needed over 20 pounds, I continued my search. I found Urea at a feed store for about $1. per pound. I only needed 10 pounds of that. ;-) John Deere carries Urea (Lescoe), too, but only in 50 pound bags. They ran around $25. |

Any ideas of where to get a quick release in a smaller amount than a 50lb bag?

Like he mentioned, Ammonium Sulfate is also a good product. No idea where you could get something. If you can't find exactly what and the amount you're looking for, use the Scotts Winterizer (if it is quick release, which it should be), or buy #50 and save it (if you have room). The little extra phosphorus in the Winter formula shouldn't hurt anything.
