| Hello. It's the time of the year in my area to apply the winter seed in my lawn. I was wondering if applying one application of Rye seed and then doing another about 4 weeks later is overseeding and damage the lawn?
One of my landscape guys said it's ok. Your thoughts. |

| And what I mean by 2 applications I mean in the second application just apply the rye seed and not the fertilizer. |

| Won't hurt a thing to not fertilize. In fact i rarely fertilize the first time. I make my 1st application after i mow for the second time. Why wait so long for the second? If it looks like i need more seed i will do so 7 days after the initial application. Soon it will be to cold for most fertilizes to do any good unless you use potassium or calcium nitrate. These can be hard to find. |
