I would be worried about mowing frozen grass, or 'maybe' even night before or day off a hard freeze.... but definitely not a couple days before or a couple days after.

Thank you very much. If you had a choice, would you mow a couple days before, or a couple of days after. (Freeze won't be that hard and ground will not freeze on this one)

I would have no preference.

if I was to pick .... in the fall, get it mowed as often as you can, keep it short for increased sun exposure and reduced chance of disease (increase wet time this time of year)

Also never know when you can cut it next due to lack of daylight and grass that doesn't dry as fast.
