what are these brown patches?

Hello,
I would appreciate some help with these brown patches that have started in my yard. I am on the west coast of Florida. The lawn was started from sod in august/july, not the best months i know. It has been doing well up until several weeks ago. These patches have developed over the past weeks. I now have some time to devote to treating them. Are they fungus?

the gallery includes close ups.
I was watering twice a week. but have cut back to once. Any advice on how to remedy this would be great!
Thanks!

This time of year you should only be watering once per month. From a distance that looks like fungus, but the pictures were not close enough to see any lesions on individual blades of grass. Can you get about 3 inches away from the yellowed grass blades and post a picture of that?
