Strange patches of grass in my lawn

Hi I have patches in my lawn of an odd type of grass. The normal grass is the blades on the right. The undesired grass is on the left. Can anyone please help identify it and how to possibly get rid of it. Thanks in advance.

I can't see anything in those pictures, but since you live in Conn and the grass is patchy, I'm going to leap to creeping bentgrass as your problem. That will at least give you something to Google and see if that looks like your issue.
