Nobody seems to know what causes the post frost patterning in bermuda, but it is very common. Nothing to worry about and no treatment for it.

Yes, we DO know what causes the frost patterning. It's thermodynamic.

+1 Rhizo. I saw that and thought, "What an interesting example of rising and falling air."

It looks like the micro-cells of air one gets. The greener areas look like they were sections where rising air warmed, the brown ones where falling air cooled the grass and sent it dormant.

I wouldn't expect that every year, but where the frost was marginal to the temperature necessary to send the grass dormant, sure.

Strangely, I see exactly the same patterning in my soap if I overheat the oils just a little bit. Parts solidify first, followed by the areas around them that were up-wells of hotter oils.
