| You want to put down one to two pounds of nitrogen for cool season grasses, the later it is put down, the greater the emphasis on fast release N. Depending on how far north rockland county is, you may be too late. Winterizer should be put down after topgrowth stops but while the grass is still green. The colder it is, the slower the grass uses N. Once temps are consistantly at freezing, the grass stops processing N. |

| I'm just one county north of you in southern Orange County. The opportunity has mostly passed. The soil temperatures indicate that the grass roots have probably shut down. |
