I am looking at Toro 826LE Snowblower 3 seasons old. Can someone know if this Tecumseh engine is a single or dual shaft. If dual shaft then I will offer less vs. for a single shaft.

The extended cam shaft engines have not been used for many years and certainly not by Toro. They were common on Ariens and others at one time.

Thank you for the info, The snowblower is around 70km from me The seller is driving to Toronto this weekend and is willing to drop it off. I will offer a few hundred more for a single shaft engine vs a dual shaft snowblower.

RE: Toro 826LE Snowblower, Dual or Single Shaft Engine

Please tell me what the difference is between a single shaft engine, and a dual shaft engine--other than the obvious.
I have used both types, either in an application that requires a dual shaft set-up, or the single shaft. I have used a dual shaft engine where the second shaft isn't used, and everything worked out ok. I have also used a Troy-bilt Tiller that used the second shaft for reverse, and a small tiller that also had the dual shaft to run the tines. Please advise, as i haven't seen any ill-effects from using a dual shaft engine on a machine that didn't need the second shaft.
