Snapper 19'

There is a new Snapper 19" cut push mower that looks quite sturdy but I have no experience of the machine or brand. It has a Briggs engine and rear discharge. Does anyone have any comments on this company or mower?

This is basically a warmed over Murray mower from that past ten years or so. It was a cheap mower then, and is a cheap mower now.

Murray went bankrupt leaving Briggs and Stratton as their largest creditor. Briggs acquired Murray thru the bankruptcy court to protect their investment and try to salvage something from the bones.

Briggs also acquired Snapper and Simplicity around the same time. That's why you see Briggs engines on everything with a Snapper or Simplicity label, except for the occasional extra cost Honda as a premium engine.

The mower you mention is OK, as long as your expectations aren't to high. I think list is $269 and I'm sure you can shop around and get for the low $200's. Basically you'll get what you pay for.

It should cut grass well. Expect that non engine components won't be as long lived as with say a Toro Super Recycler but it should function without problem for several years. Just keep up maintenance and clean the underdeck regularly. Is 19" sufficient for your use?

Thanks for the replies. As the price here is $385 (almost the same as a Honda HRS) so I will go with that unless you put me off that too.
