| Is there any such animal as a cordless bladed lawn edger? I already have a 4-cycle Honda straight-shaft string trimmer, but I am getting tired of trying to edge about 120' of sidewalk with it. It is quite an ordeal that involves holding the trimmer in an odd position, and trying to resist the kickback as the trimmer digs into the turf. Inevitably, a rather wobbly line is the result.
Perhaps a good solution would be a bolt-on guide wheel for it, but I have been unable to find such an animal either. So I figure a bladed battery-powered trimmer might do the job. Plenty of corded electric ones out there, but hauling out the ol' 100 foot extension cord once a week is kind of a PITA also. |

| I doubt a battery operated unit would be much of an improvement. Those things require a lot of power which translates into a heavy motor and battery. Have you tried walking backwards pulling the unit toward you? It might be a lot easier to control. |
