 o
yardman selfstarter?

Does anyone know why Yardman quit making the self-starter type mower...the flywheel pulls that start cord for you when you just push a button. As an old lady I LOVE that feature. Last time I had it in for service the guys were amazed by it. Like me, its gettin' old and I would like to replace it with a new one, but no one seems to make one...WHY? It is grrrrrrreat!

Because YOU'VE never had to fix them! They do work kind of slick, I agree. But, since these have went away- key starts have batteries that are better suited for the job than 15 years ago. Plus, they get to charge more... I have a few regulars that still have them.

Interesting. I've never heard of such a thing.

Regarding the "new" battery powered starters: don't care for them. I've acquired two mowers recently with the batteries and neither will crank the mower (even after charging).
