Kohler 4.8

I have a kohler 4.8 that not starting its getting fire and I have cleaned the Carburetor even removed and cleaned were the welch plate is still does not get gas. The one thing that I noticed is real easy to pull I think to easy. Does it sound like the valves are sticking and if so would that keep the gas from getting to the plug? Any suggestion on how to trouble shoot this engine? One other thing I removed the jet and cleaned it. Could I have tighten it to much. What the procedure for re installing the jet.
