That sure narrows it down!

Does the coil have a little tab with a smaller diameter wire hooked to it?
If so, that would be a kill wire which is grounded to kill spark.
Disconnect it and see if you get spark.

actually muy mistake ita 4 hp I believe and I already tried the kill wire trick, it seems the current coil is a replacemeent, it appears to be an electronic pointless coil, but it is heavily rusted corroded,
I have searched high and low and the engine model number is not where it is supposed to be and appears to be on a decal on the flywheel over which of course someone painted, I tried to remove the paint but of course that destroyed the model number

Sand off the area of the cooling shroud beside the carb on the right side.

you were right after I took the shroad off it was on the side where the card assembly was
