| I am getting ready to replace the shaft throttle on my lawn mower ..craftsman 550 series briggs and stratton model # 917-385127. I noticed the shaft is inserted into the carburator. can it be removed or is it "machined" in. My shaft broke on top that is why i am replacing it. thanks for the feedback |

| One would assume to remove the screw that retains the throttle plate to the shaft would allow the shaft to slide out. I tried your model # but it didn't load. There will also be an engine # stamped on the engine if you need further help. |
