Snapper Self Propelled Mower

I have a Snapper self propelled lawn mower, Model P21500. The drive disc (the one with the rubber band) will not stay in position. As soon as I engage the self propelled function, the drive disc moves all the across the drive pulley (the one driven by the engine). I cannot figure out what is happening.

Has anyone ever seen this problem and have any suggestions?

Thanks

Have you check the Spring tension on the Wheel Drive & Idler (disc)?

Hippy,
I took everything apart yesterday and put it back. Everything seems correct except for the original problem. I cannot figure this out. Guess it may be time to go the repair professionals.

Thanks for the help.

I don't have any pictures at this moment, but I believe you didn't hook up one of your linkages.

do you have the rod that connects the speed control lever to the wheel lever ,there is a small clip that must be clipped to the connecting rod or the disc will not stay in place.
