I have never had this happen before. I have great running Honda HRB215 self propelled lawn mower. The blade engagement takes a little while to spin up. When the blades are fully engaged and you mow a couple of feet, the blades stop cutting the grass. However, the engine is running fine. What do I need to do to fix? Thank you.

For the age of the 215 you most likely have to rebuild the BBC unit. Make sure you give the serial number because there was a modification to that unit. BTW did you adjust the cable as per the book?
|
What does BBC stand for? I do have the serial number. No I have not adjusted the cable. Not sure how to do it. Which book are you referring to? Owners or service manual? Thank you for time and help.

The cable adjustment is in the owners manual and the Service manual. BBC is the blade brake clutch assembly. You need to adjust the free play to 10-15mm or 3/8 to 9/16 in. You will need a 10 mm wrench. This should be in your owners manual.I think you can get one online @ the Honda site.

BBC = Blade Brake Clutch or British Broadcasting Corporation Check the owners manual that came with the mower for adjustment instructions.

Thank you for the help guys!!
