Has the carburetor diaphragm been replaced? If not that is an area to inspect. Is this model from the 1980s?

Is it possible that is so old it uses a reed valve?
If the carburetor is below that Homelite cover remove the carb to see if there is a reed valve.
You can sometimes turn it over and get new life.
Or you can reform it.
Let me know maybe the model number.

I took the carb apart and checked gaskets and diaphram and it all looks pretty good.I removed a dirty intank filter that may have caused the problem.
I am trying to reinstall carb but I am not sure how to.I cannot get choke rod or throttle rod to connect am ready to throw in the towel.Any ideas on how to reinstall carb and rods would be great.Also is there any repair book or service manual available??
