Craftsman mower rear wheels won't stay adjusted

Bought a Craftsman mower in 2009. For the most part it's been good, but the rear wheel adjustment is absolutely crap. The teeth that hold the adjustment lever in place are too short. And the bolts that attach the lever to the mower body become loose and contribute to the wheels going out of adjustment. So the wheels jump to a position that is too low. I took it apart last summer and tightened the bolts, but after one or two mowings they were even worse.

So my idea is to put Loctite on the bolts this time. Is there any reason I shouldn't do this?
