Did I just ruin a gasket on my Orange POS?

I have a 2007 Husqavarna with a 8 HP motor. The other day I was mowing and the bag got full. So I shut it off to emptyand startup. Well the thing would not turn. So I turned it over and turned the blade. I heard some pressure somewhere release. I then was able to start it but it ran like crap and the next thing I know oil and gas started to leak everywhere....what did I brake? Luckily I have a Mclane to rely on that has a nice Honda. But what the hell?

It's the B&S engines.

8 out of 10 people who I know that bought a new push mower with a Briggs engines have had nothing but trouble with them. They either blow head gaskets, have cheap gaskets or crack rings that cause them to blow oil out of every hole in the block.

I am just gad that I had the sense to stock up on a bunch of NIB Tecumseh Lawnboy/Toro engines and every older Silver series Lawnboy I could lay my hands on.

Doesn't sound like you ruined your orange POS, sounds like you made the often made mistake of tilting the mower over towards the carb. When you turned the blade you forced oil from the inside of your motor to your carb via a small tube and saturated the air filter. Replace the filter and check oil level. mow with pride...can't blame this one on the motor.

Maybe a little bit went into the intake valve and cylinder. If you're worried, just change the oil and maybe the plug.

After you changed the filter and cleaned up it hopefullly ran ragged for a bit then burned off any excess oil and fuel in the cylinder. And it's running fine??
