| Greetings all,
I have a Bolens 21in cut B/S mower (Model # 11A-414W765) that "was" running fine until it started stalling like it was out of gas. It was able to start a few more times after that, but eventually hit the normal RPM's then just died off from there. Now, she wont start at all. The string is fine, and shes not locked up, its turning the blade but just has no resistance to it when I pull it. It's about 5 years old but only has 2 cutting seasons on it. What is the next step to see if shes dead? Thanks Ryan |

| I want to be sure I understand what you are saying. When it has no resistance when the starter rope is pulled are you saying when the piston comes up on compression stroke that no resistance is felt? If that is the case then the engine should spin with equal freedom when it is on intake, compression, ignition and exhaust strokes. If that is the case then either the spark plug has been removed or one of the valves is stuck open. However, the briggs engine may have a compression release, which will reduce but not eliminate the pressure felt on the compression stroke. Which is it. |

| Tighten up loose spark plug. Check tightness of head bolts. |
