| My Craftsman mower sat idle for years. Now it won't run. I did a carb rebuild on it (except float bowl nut) and cleaned everything, as there was a bunch of gross orange sludge in the bowl and a lot of oxidation. I did clean the holes in the nut.
When I push the prime bulb, I only get air sound going into the the throat. I can prime it only by putting air from a can into the primer hole in the carb (with the air filter removed)or spraying starter fluid. Then it will run for one second and die. Any suggestions? The bulb seems to be pushing only air into the bowl, and even if it did work, the fuel is not being drawn into the carb when it tries to start. thanks. |

| Check the rubber fuel hose for deterioration. Check the breather hole in the cas cap. Do a full-scale cleanup of the whole carb. Especially the teeny holes in the throat. Use carb cleaner, or soak the whole thing in carb cleaner. Then blow out all of the holes, etc., with compressed air. |
