| Hi,
I bought a Husky walking mower with a Kohler engine last fall. Used it about 5 times and a problem came up. First, I am using new gas from this year. When I start it up it runs good for about 30 minutes. Then the engine cuts out. When I try to restart it, it runs for a second or two and cuts out. I could try to start it over and over and it runs only for a second or two. Any thoughts? I know I could take it back for repair under warranty but is there anything I can do myself? Thanks Francis |

| Sure, you can check to see if you have spark when it quits, you can see if adding choke helps or dribbling gasoline directly into the carb. This will give you, us, a better idea what is going on. What about your gas tank vent, is it clear? Remove cap to see if this helps. Walt Conner |

| I checked the spark plug and gas cap and both were fine. When attempting to spray some carb cleaner I noticed something odd. I apologize for the non-technical description but blocking the opening to the carb was a round metal piece with a few small holes in it. I sprayed thru the holes and the mower started. The odd thing is when I looked at other times this round piece of metal was not blocking the carb opening. It runs good after doing this .... so hopefully it's fixed. |

| That round thing sounds like the choke plate. When starting, it's supposed to cover the opening, but after that, it should be open the whole time. |
