| I have a Honda Mower with the blade clutch, I is selpropelled with the 3-speed gear selector on the deck. The engine starts with 1-pull the engine runs smooth but when I engage the blade the engine stumbles almost dies and it then seems to run ok. I would like to increase the RPM. How do I do increase the RPM on this model.
This is the Honda info on the deck "Honda SX, MZAL-6009656 this is the only ID I have I would guess this mower must be 15 to 20 years old. |

| Your center bearing on the blade clutch is greasable. Use a small knife to pry out the rubber protector that hides the balls. Force grease into the ball area and re-cover. Also, the jets in your carburetor could contain some varnish. I would not mess with the RPM. Use Sea Foam or Startron regularly until you think the carb is clean inside. |

| How do I get at the bearing, do I have to remove the blade. Thanks |
|
| Yes. I don't know exactly what has to be removed, but I've done it before and I know it worked in that case. The bearing was dry. By the way, many bearings are made this way and you can grease them up. |
