Brand new 20194-love it, except when I stop or turn it leaves the clippings in a pile towards the front of the deck! Don't believe the grass was too wet or too high. Bought this style on recommendations that it would mulch as well as the Super Recyclers and the deck etc. is actually a Lawnboy design many liked. The blade design looks like it should shred the clippings better. Any ideas or should I have went with one of the mulchers? Oh buyers remorse!

How tall is the grass you're cutting, and to what height are you trying to cut it? In other words, how much grass are you trying to take off? When you say it's not too wet, is it wet at all? For optimal mower performance, the grass shouldn't be damp, period. I'd give it a couple more mows before deciding it's not right for you. Keep in mind it IS designed to be best as a bagging mower and not a mulching mower.

Curious-I looked under the deck and there is a 1/2inch cutout about 12inches long in the front, I presume to allow air flow for bagging. This is exactly where the clippings collect when I stop.

The reason is, it is keeping the clippings suspended, as it's supposed to do. It takes a few feet of distance before the mower can process the clippings from any given point. So, when you stop or turn around, you get a clump because you've interrupted the process. What I do is cut three header strips on the edges, and slow down as I approach the turnaround. This allows the mower to process out the remaining clippings and gets rid of the clumps.

Question-does the underside of the 20092 have this cutout? Did the salesman steer me toward this model because it"s more money? Anyone with the model 20092 experience piles of grass in areas ?

The 'cutout' has nothing to do with it. Most any mower will do it to some extent in mulching because of the mulching process. Also, the 20092 has a different deck than the subject mowers.

Saxman has it right. When you turn you are pushing down on the control bar which raises the front wheels, breaks the vacuum and provides an exit for all that suspended cut grass. just slow down before making or turn. Or back track a moment and vacuum up the cuttings.

Does the 20092 do this also? I am replacing an 11 year old White that I didn't have to. If it weren't for the transmission needing to be fixed every year I wouldn't think of it.
