 o
John Deere 14SB with an FJ180V-CS11-R engine

I just installed an FJ180V-CS11-R on a 14SB frame, which I believe to be the same frame as the early JX75. (The original engine on the 14SB was an FC150V-FS00.) The new new engine fit with out any modifications, and the blade guide, pulley and BBC fit perfectly. The only thing I had to do was tap the mounting holes and shorten one mounting bolt to 1-inch. However, the throttle control works backwards, in that the choke is at the off-setting (throttle back) and off is at the choke-setting (throttle forward). If anyone has the trick to reverse this let me know. I don't see any differences in the parts diagrams when I compare the throttle controls for the 14SB and the JX75, and the governor on the engine I have is the same as the one on the later model JX75 with the FJ180V, so this has me stumped.

If you are unable to mount the cable differently at the engine, simply buy a throttle control that has a reversible throw.

Shredmore,
Need help!
1.After FJ180V installed, do you feel 14SB's mulching is better?
2.Which hole need a tap? if stand holding control?

Thanks.
