Toro runs and starts better with gas

I pulled the Toro GTS out of the shed and pulled it over. No fire. Then I remembered the shut off. DOH Opened it, Still no start. Opened the bowl drain and drained out some dark amber gas. Only a half cup. I opened the gas tank, bone dry. Double Doh. Put some fresh gas in the tank. First pull This is the furthest I have had to get into this mower since I replaced a missing height adjuster bolt back in '09 when I found the mower,

This one has a 4 stroke Suzuki and is my best mower so far.
