You guessed it--Toro is using engines made in China on most of their walk behind units this year. However, they do have one Super Recycler with a Honda GCV160 on it (model 20382). That one would be my choice because it's a proven engine.

I actually own two of the new Super Recyclers with the new Engines that I use for cutting grass on the side, the 20381 and 20383. According to the dealer they are made in China but have some commercial properties, such as a cast iron sleeve I believe he said.

Overall performance so far has been good and are vastly superior to the Briggs engines on some of my other mowers. They have plenty of power and cut through high grass very well. They also use less gas than the Briggs engines and are relatively quiet.

That all being said I will be swapping these out for a pair of commercial grade mowers soon. The new engine they are using is good but it is not the best if you are using it commercially.
