| I bought the mower about a year ago. It has a kohler engine. Mower started fine, after 10 minutes of mowing made a loud noise as if I hit a rock, and then died. Wouldnt start again. Now when I try to start it , it starts and then turns right back off again. It is almost like there is something that is telling it to turn off. I changed the air filter,oil, spark plug and fuel to ensure that everything was fine. I have to wait a while and then the engine will do the same thing again, start and then die right away, doesnt sputter. Just seems like it turns right back off.
Any ideas as to what this could be ? |

| Hopefully covered by warranty... Have a receipt? Any damage to the blade? |

| no, cant find the receipt anymore. I checked the blade and even removed it to inspect for damage.. nothing I will call home depot and see if there is any way they can run the serial number to validate warranty. |

| I'm assuming this is something like a 21" mower - right? It sounds like the blade ran into something - a stump, root, rock, etc. Damage may not show on the blade. Because it won't stay running I think the flywheel key was sheared. That will throw timing off, but sometimes it isn't far enough off to prevent ragged momentary starting. Did you or the seller register it with Ariens at purchase? |
