Lawnmower wont start, no spark.

Hi,

I have a Murray 20" 3in1 lawnmower with a B & S motor ref 12H882-2312-B1 I use it in a warm climate (no cold) all year round. I recently changed the pull chord on it and it has worked since.....but that time I did have a problem with it not being able to stop once I had started mowing. I also hit a tree stump but it carried on like a champ!

Anyway, about a week later I took it out of the garage again and it won't start, I changed the oil, fuel, air filter and spark plug - still no luck. I then cleaned the carburetor using carb cleaner and a thin wire - nothing. I did notice that the carb seal and the carb seal underneath the bowl were worn so I replaced them by making a seal out of gasket material. I've checked and it appears that there is no spark, even with the Ignition module 'break wire' connected and disconnected - no spark.

I'm guessing it's the Ignition module that needs replacing but as that will take weeks to arrive here,is there anything else I should be looking at?

Thanks in advance, any advice is very much appreciated.
