Did you use the 91-2258 belt and is it in the drive pulley on the engine shaft? I assume that you would notice if the bracket was pulling from the transmission.

Thanks Tom, I do have the right belt. Probably slipped off the blade adapter pulley. Will check and correct this afternoon.

Appears as though the belt is secured on the crankshaft pulley. Below is a link to a video I took of how its routed.

Thanks Tom, that's all I could come up with the more I looked at it. Bought this belt at a mower shop 3 yrs ago based my mower's model #. I'll be there picking up replacement axle bearings on Friday and will grab a belt then.

Dayco L335 from the auto parts store did the trick, back in business.
