Best reel mower for Bermuda: Mascot vs Fiskars vs other

Posted by SD_Gator none (My Page) on

This has been discussed last year, but I wanted to see if there are any new opinions on this.

What's the best reel mower for bermuda? The Mascot Silent Cut was highly recommended at one point. The Fiskar's Momentum also seems to have a lot of folks who like it.

Is there a definitive "best" mower for Bermuda?

Thanks!!

RE: Best reel mower for Bermuda: Mascot vs Fiskars vs other

I'm dissapointed in all of them. Now I haven't tried the Fiskars, but the review here didn't make me want one. Right now my lawn is pretty bumpy.
The Brill is just too light. When the turf gets thick, it just skims along the top.
The Mascot is too hard to push. I adjusted it per the manual and even back lapped it. To get an even cut across the bed knife, makes it really hard to push on my heavily sloped yard.

I'm having it leveled so I may then feel differently, Of course that wont change the grade. I'll probably get a powered trimmer for next year.
