I am afraid they are right you have to buy the entire assembly transmission, I checked with planopower.com

Tell you what, you probably are going to need the transmission anyway so don't feel too bad about having to buy the whole ass'y.

Why not ask the "moron" to foot the bill for replacement parts? Only sounds fair.

I have a few defective transmissions around for the HRZ. If you will pay shipping I will send you one and you can swap the shaft.

After I took it apart. I tossed it. That is too much work to replace it.

Get a Lawnboy with a Tecumseh on it. Problem solved.

I have a Honda walk-behind sitting here, waiting for an axle bolt to come in at the parts store. Been two weeks. They found the bolt in their parts book, but no progress on receiving it yet.
Also, i got a Toro self propelled last night as a gift from a fellow fireman. The bushings that hold the front axle in place broke apart, and they couldn't get new ones, and their grass was GROWING!
So, i found two small plates with two holes in each one, and bolted them at the bottom of the axle slot. They hold the axle in place, the height adjustment still works, and they will likely last until dooms-day! And, it runs and drives, and adjusts up and down. Not bad for a two year old freebie!
