When's the last time you lubed the wheel? Maybe there's some drag?

I lubed the drive wheel and chains prior to last use.
It didn't help.

The problem may be a poor sharpening job prior to the mowing
season. It cuts a little lower on both outer edges and a
little higher in the center. I probably need to take it to
the shop for reel and bed knife adjustment.

Strange usually it would cut lower on one side only. Did you do a paper test to see if it is cutting the same on the sides and middle?
I have seen and only once where the front height adjusters were in the wrong holes and crossed.
